Trogear’s Mumm 36 Hitting the Race Course

After a long renovation/short-handed sailing conversion project, Trogear’s Mumm 36 “Let’s Dance” is finally out on the race course. Sporting a Trogear AS-40 Bowsprit and a new head sail from Elvstrom Sails, she saw her first real action in the Gascgone 45/5, a 350 NM race from La Rochelle, France to a point in the Baye of Biscay and back. Let’s Dance, skippered by Trogear owner Henry Dokonal with teammate Raphael Auffret was put to the test with some wind and gusts around 30kn near the Bay.

The latest race was the Tour de Re. The Skipper and crew (Etienne, Raphael, Will, Alexandre) were pleased to cross the line in the top three out of nearly 250 yachts. Matched against Sunfast 3600’s and others, the Mumm 36 handled beautifully in the light wind conditions.

While the team always wants to do the best possible, 2019 is more about getting accustomed to the yacht, fine tuning the set up and determining what needs to be adjusted to maximise her potential.

Stay tuned for much more about the rebirth of this classic racing yacht!!
